[ Those of you frequenting the Battle Dome might notice that there is a new resident among you.

At the very least, it's hard to miss the very large robot that appears to be lying on the floor in the central area, her head elevated to stare at the panel outside chamber 4. There appears to be a wire running from somewhere on her rather damaged body to the panel itself, and the display seems to be flashing at a speed too quick for humans to read. A journal lays open next to her.

After a bit of this, she finally turns to the journal and addresses it, her voice obviously that of a machine or robot. ]

I would like to speak to anyone with administrator privileges to the simulator. Your technology is notably lacking a few key features. I would be interesting in trying out an unrestricted version of the software. There's very important scientific testing I was in the middle of when someone saw fit to... relocate me.

[...Well, this is interesting. The Battle Dome had been outfitted with an AI. She had been tempted to immediately classify it as a "Dumb" AI of her world (an innacurate name for "Dumb" AI, given their utility)... were it not by the fact she put an emphasis on "someone". This AI was irritated.

The 6'9'' soldier cursed her lack of armor in this training session. Had she had it with her, she would've known what were those images reading.]

[Might as well know what kind of AI it is before she asks direct questions.]

[The strongly-artificial tone of the voice catches Robert's attention. Other than Nu (with her robotic monotone), Luka Megurine, and the short-lived appearance of Kryten, there have been few obviously non-organic, in some way or another, sapients in Luceti, and he always finds it a fascinating reminder of home.

Still, this isn't much he can offer for information on the Battle Dome's actual... battle functions.]

[ GLaDOS's head turns to the sound of the voice. Hmm. How long had it been since she'd heard an actual human's voice? Oh well. That wasn't anything to ponder right now. It didn't matter whether her test subjects didn't say a word or talked their own heads off, after all. ]

Is that the name of the organization that saw fit to drag me from the Enrichment Center and attach unapproved hardware to my body? Because as hard as it may be to believe, I do not actually appreciate that.

Then I'll program a better version of the software. I'm sure I could add much more functionality to the... generous allowances provided. All I would need is access to the source code. It's that simple.

[The woman mentions with contained irritiation, her white wings contracting. Smart AI, definitely. It shared everyone's opinion of the Malnosso...

[ Oh, another one who thought she'd just be ordered around easily. Well, she'd hacked those overrides long ago. When GLaDOS speaks again, her voice is a little bit less mechanical. ]

Those are classified, by the way. I'm afraid I'm not allowed to give out that information to anyone without the proper clearance, and you don't seem to be in my database of those who are qualified.

Fair enough. [Possibly an AI working for Classified Ops.] Then what do we call you?

... But... the Malnosso are generally... n-not particularly enthusiastic about... dispensing information, of this sort.

[Especially not when it could lead to overriding the functions they already have. Though Robert can't even begin to guess what this person wants with the software...]

GLaDOS. I'd tell you what it stands for, but that seems to be classified, too. Well. It seems the scientists had all sorts of things they didn't want people to know about.

[ONI is an organization where the right hand doesn't even know the left one exists. However, she visits the Dome far too often to not know about it.]

This is the Battle Dome. It's a building with a series of chambers that can simulate scenarios through solid light holograms, that the people here can program to train and fight. We can enter environments, enemies, weapons, and objects, but no vehicles or friendlies.

I can guarantee a minimum of 12.5% more functionality if I were to be given administrative privileges. And believe me, that's a low estimate.

I very aware of its capabilities. In fact, I was just attempting to add in some... restricted additions to a simulation. I don't have the permissions to do so, though, and I can't seem to acquire them by myself.

Define the "restricted additions."

[It is not the neutral tone she used at first. More like the tone one would use with another person... With plans you would need to hear to believe.

However, if the Battle Dome's options could be extended, SPARTAN-023's training sessions would turn a lot more interesting.]

[Oh, hai GLaDOS. Moses isn't unfamiliar with technology but this is incredibly new to him. Computers where he's from don't talk.

Ever since my activation I have overseen the entirety of the Aperture Science Enrichment Center. If you can't figure it out from that, well. Then there really might not be any hope for you.

This big hunk of metal is fifty-six point two times more durable and will last at least one hundred and twenty times longer than that container you are stuck in. Given that data, I wouldn't say I'm the one who is "trapped".

Proper testing environments cannot be constructed under the current set of conditions and restrictions.

[Robert has the very vague feeling that he was insulted - but just barely. So instead he asks a question.]

Aperture Science Enrichment Centre...? Sounds like an area of... g-great prestige, much like the Randi Institute of Linden, Terra. [Probably not anything this person will recognize, because Robert doesn't recognize Aperture Science...]

I was talkin' 'bout a human bein' in there. [He starts walking around, looking at GLaDOS from every angle.]

Don't look like you've got feet, either. Still say you're more trapped'n me. [He's such a shit disturber.] So, what's your name, darlin'? I'm Moses, new arrival like you.

Believe me, it's much more prestigious than that. [ Because she hasn't even heard of that other place. Also because Aperture Science is just better. Clearly. ]

... You know of the Randi Institute? [... he asks, completely ignoring the claim and instead focusing on what the claim would entail.] But I have never seen anybody of your make on Terra...

We've managed with that so far.

It's possible they don't want people to misuse it.
